Online submission is mandatory
- Email submissions will not be accepted
- Submission deadline: 15 March 2025, 23:59 (Central European Time) => EXTENDED TO 30 MARCH 2025, 23:59 (Central European Time)
Submission Rules
Abstracts will be rigorously reviewed by the IFLA 2025 Scientific Committee
English language submissions only
Abstract length:
Abstract title: maximum 20 words.
Abstract body text: maximum 500 words. This 500-word limit does not include the title or author details of the abstract
Keyword : maximum 5
Biography (presenter) text : The maximum size of the biography is 70 words.
References: author’s name, initials of first name, date, title, place of publication, publisher, volume number, page.
Presentation format: abstracts can be submitted for oral or poster. The Scientific Committee will make the decision on the type of oral presentation or poster that will be offered.
Authors selected for an oral presentation will be invited to submit before June 15 a short paper (around 3000 words) or short video of their work to be integrated, in addition to their abstract, into the online congress proceedings, available to participants

All authors approve the abstract content
Information accuracy has been verified
Presenter registration fully paid before 15 May and commitment to in-person presentation in Nantes (no remote or pre-recorded video)
Presentation will be conducted in English
Permission for abstract publication is given to the organizers
Acceptance of unedited abstract publication
Provide references according to the requested standards
For oral communications, authors will be invited to provide a short paper paper (around 3000 words) or a short video by 15 June 2025

How do I submit an abstract?
You need to create an account on the online platform https://ifla2025.abstractserver.com/submission/#/home before you can submit your abstract. Abstracts can only be submitted online. Do not send your abstract by email!
How many abstracts can I submit?
The Organizing Committee recommends one abstract per first author/presenter. However, multiple contributions as a co-author are permitted.
What language can I use in the abstract?
All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English with accurate grammar and spelling suitable for publication.
Who will review the abstracts?
Each valid submitted abstract will be reviewed anonymously by at least 2 reviewers. The final selection will be made by the scientific committee in April 2025.
Can I submit an abstract that has already been presented or published?
It is possible to submit a previously published abstract as a poster presentation.
Abstracts submitted for oral presentations should not have been previously presented or published.
If an abstract is accepted for a poster presentation, is the author required to provide a short paper or video?
No, only authors whose abstracts are accepted for oral presentations will be required to provide a short paper or video.
If an abstract is accepted for oral or poster presentation, is the author required to attend in person, or would remote participation be permitted for this format ?
No, all presentations, both oral and poster, must be conducted in person. Remote participation is not allowed.
What will be the format of oral presentations?
There will be 2 formats:
Short format: 5-minute presentation in a session of 7 presentations, followed by a 20-minute roundtable discussion including audience Q&A.
Long format: 10-minute presentation in a session of 5 presentations, followed by a 20-minute roundtable discussion including audience Q&A.
Will the conference proceedings be indexed in any academic databases or open-access repositories ?
Yes, the conference organizers intend to index the conference proceedings in an academic database.
Will the accepted abstracts and short papers be assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier)?
Authors of selected abstracts will be informed about the DOI assignment (if implemented) in their abstract notification message.
Will the abstract be published in Scopus indexed journal ?
The congress organizers intend to publish the abstracts in a Scopus-indexed journal. If implemented, the authors will be informed about the publication in their abstract notification message.
